August 2007 - Chorus Debuts at the Edinburgh
Festival Fringe
The Aberdeen Chorus performed at the
Edinburgh Fringe for the first time in August 2007 with their lively and
amusing Buchan Radio Roadshow.
Aberdeen Chorus takes 3rd place and award for most
improved chorus!
On 12th May 2007 the Aberdeen Chorus
competed in Birmingham against 17 other choruses from around the UK in
what was the most keenly fought contest for several years.
The chorus was thrilled to come third,
achieving their highest ever score of 603 points and also winning the
Most Improved Chorus Award.
Musical Director, Gwen Topp becomes a "Master
Director"
Gwen Topp, director of the Aberdeen
Chorus has been awarded the status of "Master Director" by Sweet
Adelines International. Achieving a score of over 600 points in a Sweet
Adelines contest is a major milestone for chorus which allows a
Certified Director to be advanced to the status of "Master Director".
She joins an elite group of only 4 Master Directors in the UK.
