long journey this year to the annual convention which was held in Plymouth.
June 2005 -
Aberdeen City Council marks chorus's 25th birthday
Aberdeen City
Council laid on a Civic Reception for the chorus attended by the Lord and Lady
Provost to mark 25 years of the Aberdeen Chorus.
June 2005 -
Emmerdale Extravaganza
The chorus was joined
in a couple of songs by some of the Emmerdale cast at this fundraising event
held annually in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust.
September 2005
- Re-opening of His Majesty's Theatre, Aberdeen
His Majesty's Theatre
re-opened in September with a preview show presented by a number of amateur
groups in the city, including the Aberdeen Chorus. It was an exciting experience
participating in the first show in the newly refurbished theatre. The 'big sing'
numbers with the whole company of around 200 singers was a particular highlight!
October 2005 -
Paisley Choral Festival
The chorus performed
in a concert at the Paisley Choral Festival, together with the Rolling Hills
Chorus, a men's group from Edinburgh.
December 2005 - The
Auld Meal Mill
The chorus was invited
to perform at this annual event featuring a feast of Scottish music at the
Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
December 2005 -
"Brigadon"
The Christmas Show in
2005 had a Scottish theme in the form of their own original version of
"Brigadoon", aptly renamed "Brigadon".
